Force Fire Consultants – Recruitment
Vacancies exist for Fire Safety Consultants in our Fire Safety Consultancy.
The positions available are full and part time (6+ days a month) according to wishes of the selected applicant/s following interview and discussion.
The work to be undertaken is Fire Safety Management of which the main input is as follows:
- Fire Risk Assessments
- Occupiers Compliance Surveys
- Prepare and amend drawings ready for our CAD Operators. The drawings will be set on CAD with appropriate symbols as an aid for training and for maintaining the fire safety provisions; they will also form the foundation of the Fire Safety Manual for the premises.
- Overseeing Fire Evacuation Drills with brief instruction to fire wardens prior to the drill and debrief following the drill.
- Advice to Clients on their legal responsibilities for Fire Safety Compliance
- Basic and fire warden Fire Safety Training
The applicant qualifications, fire safety knowledge and expertise must meet the minimum following:
- Served in a fire authority fire service operational to the rank of Sub. Officer.
- Fire Safety Inspecting Officer with a minimum of three years experience.
- A good knowledge of B1 Building Regulations and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 with full understanding of the risk assessment approach to Fire Safety Management.
- Be able to survey buildings and premises varying from a small shop up to to multiple occupancy mixed use of 500,000 square feet, professionally, and with full confidence.
Conditions of employment include the following:
- A salary of £28,000 a year or daily rate equivalent for part-time Consultant. A higher salary would be provided to an applicant having higher beneficial experience and qualifications.
- Four weeks a year holiday plus bank holidays leave.
- Full travel expenses from home to and from the work site.
- Allowance towards Broadband and mobile telephone use.
- The Consultant must be able to work alone at Client’s premises and produce good standard reports to our set formats
- The Consultant must be experienced in computer use and programs Excel, Word and Outlook; or a quick learner with instruction provided.
Areas for work
Initially the tasks set will be in the County where the Consultant lives or up to 80 miles travel. Over a period of time our aim is for the Consultant to work on tasks in the County where he lives and we will market our services to that County for this to be achieved

Force Fire Consultancy Ltd has been a leading Consultancy in Fire Safety since it was formed in 1996. Prior to 1996 the consultancy was in a multiple-discipline company that included fire engineering from 1976.
Our twenty Consultants all served in fire and rescue authorities as Fire Safety Inspecting Officers and each has from 16 to 30 years service, some up to the rank of Fire Safety Commander.
We have a support staff of five administrators and a CAD Bureau with three Operators.
We provide advice and assistance for our Clients to comply with Fire Safety legislation applying reasonable standards to their premises in line with Guides and the risk assessment methodology.
